Cargill established grain trading operations in the UK in the 1950s and began processing oilseeds in the country in 1985. We now import, export and process grains and oilseeds, and other non-grain feed ingredients including soybeans and rapeseed.
The company has a number of oilseed crush plants and vegetable oil refineries in the UK – a rapeseed and specialty crop crush plant in Hull; a soybean crush plant and refinery in Seaforth, Liverpool; a rapeseed crush plant and refinery in Brocklebank, Liverpool and also an imported feed ingredient terminal at Seaforth Dock.
The core physical business is managed from the Witham St Hughs office in Lincolnshire where Cargill also undertakes merchandising and trade risk management
Our grains and oilseeds customers include vegetable oil refiners for processed oil; biodiesel producers and other industrial users for oil; and animal feed manufacturers and merchants for protein meals and other non-grain feed ingredients.
