Agriculture
As one of the world’s leading merchants of grains and oilseeds, Cargill connects producers and users of grains and oilseeds around the globe. We operate on an integrated global basis to source, store, trade, process and distribute grains and oilseeds including wheat, corn, oilseeds, barley and sorghum, as well as vegetable oils and meals. We have a broad global presence in grain origination, shipping and processing, offering a range of farmer services and risk management solutions, and have significant expertise in handling identity preserved and differentiated products.
In the United Kingdom, our agricultural supply chain activities include:
- Processing, importing and exporting grains and oilseeds, and other non-grain feed ingredients
Helping our partners thrive
We import, export and process grains and oilseeds, and other non-grain feed ingredients including soybeans and rapeseed, for a wide range of customers. These include vegetable oil refiners for processed oil, biodiesel producers and other industrial users for oil, and animal feed manufacturers and merchants for protein meals and other non-grain feed ingredients.
We work hard to make our partners' businesses more successful and offer practical support including merchandising and trade risk management.
Our capabilities and resources
We operate a network of oilseed crush plants and vegetable oil refineries in the UK: a soybean crush plant and refinery in Seaforth, Liverpool; and a rapeseed crush plant and refinery in Brocklebank, Liverpool. Our resources also include a terminal for imported feed ingredients at Seaforth Dock and a head office at Witham St Hughs in Lincolnshire.
